Aster Lit: Metamorphosis

Issue 3—Fall 2021

I'll press our flowers between the pages of my favorite poems

Malu Lourenço, Brazil

Take me for a walk through the tulips and dandelions
Show me the jasmine trees along the way
Kiss my cheeks and blow cherry blossoms on my hair
Let the butterflies brush away the anemones on my back
Plant me fields of lavender from the seeds under my fingernails
Cover with daisies the thorns that block my chest
Put together a bouquet with yellow dahlias and daffodils
Hold my hand, let's grow a garden on heavenly grounds where we can heal
