Note from the Editors
Ice has glazed over all that remains from the season of change, and frozen flurries blanket the barren trees that line our roads. The only glimpse of color to be found is in the iridescent shimmer twinkling over the piles of snow. You must look closely and change your view of the world if you wish to catch the beauty resting in the cold. During this perspective-shifting season, we learn to see the world in new light.
This issue, we received a shining constellation of submissions from across the world. We were amazed by the multiplicity of meanings each writer gave to the word “iridescence.” To some, it was a color built of countless shades subtly shimmering against each other; to others, it was a symbol of how meanings change depending on your outlook. As always, we are endlessly thankful for all our submitters, our readers, our Instagram followers, our podcast listeners, and everyone reading this message right now. Though the seasons may change, our gratitude toward the entire Aster Lit community never wavers.
The task of deciding whom to publish this issue was incredibly difficult, and we sincerely wish that we could showcase every piece sent to us. If your work did not get published this time, we encourage you to submit to our next issue. We can’t get enough of your amazing prose and poetry! In the meantime, you can follow us on Instagram (@aster.lit) to stay involved with our community and receive updates on issue submissions.
We love you. Your voice matters. Keep telling stories.
Sincerely,
The Aster Lit Team
